Some People Spend A Lot of Money To
Prove They Can't be Cured.

Can Hypnotherapy help everyone? Absolutely not. Some people would consider their lives ruined if they
were cured of their problems. Their problems make them who they are. They spend a lot of money to
prove they can't be cured.

The "rewards" of being incurable.

Susan is one of them. Her back gets rigid, she turns her face away and crosses her arms as she
announces,
“I don’t believe in that stuff!" The last thing she wants to hear is that phobias are
conditioned responses and usually respond quickly to hypnosis.

Susan carries a cane everywhere and turns every conversation to her "problem".  Once she starts, she
babbles incessantly about how awful it is that, ever since she slipped on the ice in a shopping center
parking lot, she can't go anywhere without someone to lean on. She breaks into a sweat, can't breathe,
and gets horribly dizzy. She gets around inside her house just fine, but the minute she steps outside,
even with a cane that she really doesn't need, she panics. Her husband or adult children have to take her
everywhere - shopping, to visit friends, to the doctors. She is terrified of going out alone.

Do you see the benefit here? What would happen if she were cured? How would she manage to get that
same kind of attention from her family?

Yes, there are people who don’t want to get better. Most of them don't know it. They would spit, sputter,
rage or cry, if you dared to suggest such a thing. Nevertheless, an astonishing number of “problems“ are
cultivated for the rewards they produce.

Pain and phobias generate attention, sympathy, and an excuse for avoiding what you don’t want to do.
Obesity is a great deterrent to sexual advances, absolves you from physical activity, and allows you to
eat whatever you want. Smoking provides reasons to stall, escape, or take a break. Alcohol and drugs
"excuse" all kinds of outrageous behavior - "
Yes, Your Honor, but he only hits me when he's been drinking."

And, if you have plenty of money or good insurance, you can do a continuous round of medical tests and
medications, which can keep you out of work for long periods of time. In a lawsuit happy world, it's really
hard to get medical professionals to tell you there's nothing wrong with you. They can't take the risk that
there might be something they missed.

Brainwashed to be inadequate

That’s doesn't meant that everyone who has a problem is hooked on the rewards. It is very possible that
there are beliefs hidden in the subconscious mind – limitations unintentionally embedded in the trusting
mind of a child by a well-meaning adult - that cause the problem. Negative self-concepts don’t always
come from abuse; more often, they come from a caring or careless parent or teacher.

Sandy takes after me…everything she eats settles in the middle. It’s in our genes to be built
like beach balls.”

“Melanie is all nerves, just like my sister, poor thing.”

“Joey got the brains and the looks, but Beth has such a good heart.”

Do Sandy, Melanie, and Beth remember those statements as adults? They can, but they often don't. They
just live their lives accepting that these statements are laws of the universe. Sandy yoyos through
Weight Watchers, Atkins and South Beach, Melanie starts every day with Prozac. Beth  holds the same
entry-level job in the nursing home that she took ten years ago. They all wish they were capable of more,
but they BELIEVE the limits set for them in their childhoods.

What you believe is what you become.
Once the subconscious accepts an idea, it remains until it is
replaced by another idea.

Hypnosis can't help those who don't want to change.

It sounds like a light bulb joke: How many hypnotherapists does it take to change a light bulb? Only one,
but it really has to want to change.

People often call hypnotists because a spouse, child, or parent has problems that cause make the caller
very unhappy and distressed. One woman called because her husband was a three-pack-a-day smoker
who needed surgery for lung cancer. The surgeon refused to operate until the man quit smoking. As it
turned out, the man was grateful for the surgeon's refusal. The last thing he wanted was his lung
removed. He was more able to accept dying than the surgery. It was a tragic situation.

Every individual has a right to make their own decisions. Nobody can be hypnotized against their will and
hypnosis is not able to force someone to do anything he doesn't want to do. Nobody can be compelled to
act in opposition to his beliefs. The subconscious mind will simply refuse to accept the instructions.

That’s what hypnotherapy does. Hypnotherapists are trained to work directly with the subconscious mind
to discover and change misconceptions and limiting beliefs that are the basis for addictions, habits, fears,
and negative behaviors. Permanent weight loss, public speaking, new job skills, pain management,
smoking, sports and sales performance are all controlled by the beliefs held in your subconscious mind.
Hypnotherapy is a natural drug-free way of reprogramming your mind to a more positive reality.

But, it works only if you really desire the change.

The three keys to change are
DESIRE, BELIEF, and EXPECTATION.  (click on the title to read the article)

"Why Aren't We All Slim?"
Part 1
We spend billions on weight loss programs that
don't work.

Commercial weight programs independently evaluated:

An evaluation of highly advertised commercial weight loss Programs published in The Annals of Internal
Medicine
reported that, in the most successful program, weight loss averaged only 10 pounds and at
least half of that was regained before two years had passed.

The Federal Trade Commission did a similar study a few years ago and came to an equally dismal
conclusion.

Despite all the hype about people who lost a hundred plus pounds, typical results just don’t support the
claims.

A closer look:

First, the drop-out rate is tremendous. Thirty percent. Or more, depending on the program.

Second, most of those who “stay” admit to “cheating”.

Third, even many of those who swear they were sticking conscientiously to the program fell short of the
promised results. (We’re not going to get into the delicate area of mis-perception, subjective interpretation,
or economy with the truth so let’s just agree to say this statement could have many meanings and let it go
at that, okay?)

And the
best results were “10% or less body weight lost with 5% regained in less than two years.

And, of course, all you have to do is look around you…or even in the mirror…to see for the evidence for
yourself. Commercial Weight Loss Programs are not very successful.

Why don’t they work?

Why? Mostly because it’s hard to live “normally” and still stick to “the program”.

Most programs emphasize:

o        Special foods, different from what is consumed by friends and family.
o        Foods that don’t taste “familiar”, thus disrupting the feeling of satisfaction.
o        Banned foods (usually common favorites).
o        Unusual eating times, as in five meals a day or eating every three hours.
o        Food diary (everyone really loves this one and does it conscientiously)
o        Public weigh-ins…guaranteed to make someone who “goes up” stay home.
    o        Pressure, guilt, and self-discipline.
o        Rules and recipes complicated enough to fill a book.
o        Boring and/or unpleasant exercise routines.
o        No recognition of the emotional satisfaction derived from food.
o        No recognition of media pressure to “consume”.
o        And worst of all…they concentrate your attention on what and when you are eating. You spend
most of your waking hours thinking about….FOOD. NOTHING carries a greater guarantee of failure
than spending all your time thinking about what you can’t have!)

And, of course, there is the implied promise built into every program, that WHEN YOU HAVE REACHED
YOUR GOAL, YOU CAN EAT NORMALLY AGAIN.

Gees…isn’t that what got you to the point that made you desperate enough to fork over
the money for THE PROGRAM in the first place?

Just a suggestion: One method, that you can do for yourself, that has worked for a lot of people for
centuries, is to respect your food...and your body. It takes just minutes a day to reprogram your thinking.

Order the CD."Mindful Eating: Enough Is More Than Enough".

Eating can…and should be…a spiritual event in which you honor the life that gives you life and replenish,
with pleasure, the energy of the wonderful body that serves you so well. When you eat this way, it is easy
to eat what is good for your body. You automatically pay attention to what makes you feel good as well as
what tastes good, and the rest of your weight issues just take care of themselves. It is impossible to
respect your body and stuff it with junk food.

It’s not a complicated issue: Honor your body and honor your food.  If you practice this simple formula for
just 21 days, you will completely change the way you eat. You can use self-hypnosis, the new
“Mindful
Eating: Enough is more than Enough CD”
, or you can pray or meditate with each meal experience.  Try it.
You will never eat the same way, again.

And now, it is available in two versions...with brain entrainment or without

What is "brain entrainment?"
We add background rhythms that synchronize with and slow your brain
waves to aid you in entering deep trance states. Some people find this enhances their experience
substantially, especially when they are tense and tired.
