Until a person has actually experienced hypnosis, everyone who decides to be hypnotized has a lot of
questions and anxieties. Often they are embarrassed to admit that they have been influenced by the
media into
wondering if a hypnotist might take over their mind or make them reveal secrets.

At the same time, they also wonder, "Can I be hypnotized? If I can, does that mean I’m gullible and
weak? What does it feel like? What does it do? Will I ever be the same again?"

These can be scary questions to face. And, because of that, some (hard to tell how many, but
probably twice as many as are willing to admit it) people who come for hypnosis are convinced they
can’t solve their very serious problem any other way. They feel like hypnosis is the last resort. (You
have to admire their courage, don't you?)

Fortunately, most hypnosis clients are intelligent thoughtful people with
open minds
who have done a lot of research and are reasonably satisfied that power-hungry
hypnotists live in the same fictional world as alien invaders and unicorns. They have carefully
considered their alternatives and decided to choose drug-free permanent solutions that are under
their own control. That doesn't mean they don't have a few things they wonder about, though...like
how to do it "right" or how they will know if they are.

Because everyone feels vulnerable and a little - or a lot - uncomfortable, you are treated very gently
and given all the time and answers you need. There is never any pressure. And, every now and then,
someone will ask if it's okay to "do this without hypnosis".

The answer is always, "Of course."

Hypnosis is the most natural and safest way to change attitudes and habits
and to take control of your body and mind, but it's not the only way. Anything that can be done
through hypnosis can also be done by other methods. Usually it takes longer, and that is certainly a
client's choice. Whatever makes you most comfortable will work best.

Almost always, reluctance to be hypnotized is related to fear of being able to "do it right" or "fear of
letting go". There is nothing wrong with that. People should only do what they are ready to do.

Anyone who wants to be hypnotized can be hypnotized. And, with just a little bit of
training (given on the first session) and practice, you can practice educated self-hypnosis.
(Everybody practice self hypnosis but often they do more harm than good.) The best hypnosis
subjects are intelligent, creative, and goal directed. (Think professional athletes, public speakers,
great salespeople…they use it routinely).

Will you be changed by hypnosis? Of course. Sometimes the changes are very small at first and not
exactly what you were expecting. Sometimes wonderful things happen almost instantly. Everyone is
different.

You choose what you want to change. Your mind, body and spirit make the changes in the best way
at the best rate for you. Your inner wisdom knows exactly how and how quickly you are prepared to
make those changes.

Nothing will happen which is not in harmony with the your deepest beliefs
and ethics.
Hypnosis works exactly the way that is right for you because you, meaning all parts of
your mind and spirit, are in charge at all times.
