Why is it that reading the words of the person who lived through a cancer experience
is so compelling?

It is not simply the answers to questions like “
What does it feel like to learn you have
cancer
? What is like to go through the treatment? What is it like to wait and wait and
wait to know that you are normal again
?”

Maybe it is the reassurance we get from knowing someone went through it…with
grace, dignity, and humor… just in case (knock on wood) we ever need the
information. We humans feel better when we know others have “been there” and
made it through.

So, take a moment to read Tom’s story: (Tom appears much younger than the 70
plus years he claims, is a gentleman in every sense of the term, and has a mind
sharper than many college professors.
)

At the beginning of this year my PSA level  concerned the doctors, so I agreed to
have a biopsy of my prostate gland. Several other men who had undergone
biopsies said it “hurt like hell”.  I contacted Lee Mengel, a Certified
Hypnotherapist, who hypnotized me and recorded it to disc.  I used this disc
every day for six weeks. On the day of the biopsy, I kept wishing the doctor and
technician would stop talking and get started. Suddenly the doctor said he was
finished.  He took tissue samples from 12 locations. This surprised  me as I had
not felt anything.

The analysis indicated aggressive cancer. Radiation therapy was required.  This
therapy required gold “seeds” to be installed in my prostate. I continued to use
my hypnosis disc on a daily basis.  As with the biopsy performance I was
surprised when the doctor said he was finished. The seeds had been installed
and I had not felt a thing.

During the preparation my PSA continued to rise and was reading 36.3.
Radiation treatments were performed Monday through Friday for a period of 9
weeks.

Side effects of radiation include loss of stamina and tiring easily.  Lee made me
a disc to help me overcome these things. I no longer need a nap every day.  My
stamina has increased noticeably.

A blood test was performed June 26.  My PSA was 0.23.

The use of hypnotherapy is a very easy way to prepare to meet any upsetting
condition that may arise.  The mind is very powerful and can overcome many
obstacles.”

Note: The American Cancer Society has endorsed hypnosis as an alternative healing
procedure since 2000. Harvard Medical School research from 2001 proved hypnosis
speeds healing substantially.
