If you want to believe you can’t help being the way you are, you have the right to think that way.
However, the latest scientific evidence proves your brain never stops growing new connections and
making new neuron patterns. Which means you can retrain your brain. And, "
breaking the habit" is
easier than you think.

Revolutionary PET Scan Research recently revealed quite a few remarkable
discoveries.

A PET (Positron Emission Tomography) Scan takes an electromagnetic image of brain activity by
tracking the blood flow to the active parts of the brain after the person has been injected with small
amounts of radioactive isotopes. The “thinking” places light up, showing what, where, and how much
“work” the brain is doing.

Scientists made a really fascinating discovery when they scanned the brains of people solving math
problems. As expected, the "math center" lit up in the left hemisphere. But, so did the
five other areas
of their brains.

When the subjects were given a sedative that gradually put them to sleep, only the “math” place in
the left brain went out. THE OTHER FIVE AREAS STAYED LIT UP.

What does this mean? It proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that 5/6th of your brain is still thinking,
even when you are asleep. Your subconscious (the 5/6th below your level of awareness) is always
working. And, it does not process information the same way “you” do.

Your subconscious processes information in pictures and symbols, and because of that, it cannot
process negatives. Try this:
Do not think of a purple balloon.

So, what shade of purple was your balloon?

Now, what does that tell you about what happens when you keep repeating, “I will not overeat, ” “I
won’t oversleep in the morning,” or, “I won’t yell at the kids for being kids”? What you are actually
doing is hypnotizing yourself, and
guaranteeing that you will do exactly what you don’t want to do.

As a Certified Hypnotherapist, I frequently get calls from frustrated people who  believe they can’t
change because they tried a lot of techniques that didn’t work (or didn’t work for very long). Often,
they have been undoing their own best efforts by the way they attempt to
change. Recent studies
show that about 80% of the messages you give your brain are negative.
